Today while chatting with friends who have a dog and noticed something very interesting.
The wife went to do shopping ,leaving the dog with the husband who stayed chatting.
Now, the dog has a little anxiety about missing it’s ‘mom’ so it watched very intently as she drove away. Half a minute later she drove past again and dog instantly recognized the bright red car.
Then later a different bright red car came past and the dog stared at it hoping it was mom again.
This started me thinking because i had read that dogs cant see much color. As it turns out they can see most colors.Interestingly red looks beige to them.
Maybe appropriate in this case, seeing as their car was a toyota, haha.
Sorry i couldnt resist

I love learning about dogs. I knew they could see some color but I did not realize red looks beige to them. Does White look White to them or does it look grey?

White.

But after watching this , I wonder if everything we perceive as “white” is actually just a very light shade of grey (or some other color)... Wouldn’t pure white be too bright to look at?
